Column numero cinco
My latest Comics in Time column is up HERE. This time, we take a look at Action Comics Annual #1 by John Byrne & Arthur Adams. It's kind of a horror themed issue, keeping with the Halloween motif I mentioned in a previous column.
The reason that I'm sticking with standard format comics and not doing something like say, Tales from the Crypt is because those books are anthology books and it's hard to review those as a whole. One creative team might be great with a super story while the rest of the issue is garbage. How do you judge that? Do you penalize one story for a bad editorial choice of dumping it in with the rest? I'd rather not so I'm just avoiding those altogether.
