Flying Information

Who could imagine such a wondrous thing?

We could hardly believe our eyes.

From a distance they looked like a flock of birds, but as they flew closer they were as men.

"Hallelujah!" a man shouted as another fell to his knees.

An old woman clutching a rosary began to cry. I found it a bit strange because even though the rest of us were happy, I could see a sadness in her eyes. Some people even cheered.

"Aren't they beautiful?" my wife asked, directed to both me and no one in particular. I must admit they were. Their golden armour glistened in the afternoon sun. I thought of all the terrible things going on in the world and in our city specifically. I thought to myself 'it must not matter if I'm a believer or not' and I thought of all the terrible things done in the name of religion. The old pope on tv had said that God was fair and just, that He could forgive all things. These were the things I thought of when they drew their swords from their sheaths. They looked to be afire.

"Look honey" I said, "it must be like a military procession" which struck me as odd. Then I saw the horror in my wife's eyes as the fire began to rain from the skies.
